4 Main Personality types

4 Main Personality Types

If you have been around the block a few times I’m sure you’ve heard about the 4 main personality types. A slew of top trainers from like; Dani Joshnson, Jim Rohn, Tom “Big Al” Schrider, Jerry “Rhino” Clark, Jeff Combs and many others have taught on this topic.

There has also been a mirage of studies ranging from Myers Brigs to color charts. The 4 main personality types have been described as precious stones, animals and colors, with the last probably to easiest to remember.

However I just don’t hear this topic being covered very much with regards to online marketing. Until now. My friend Alecia has written a blog post not just about the 4 main personality colors, but she's added a slides that show 6 figure jobs that are suited for each personality. Along with a list of great trainings provided by Empower Network that support each job. Find that personality post here.

The leading experts say you want to write with the audience in mind. You want to appeal to their thinking and understanding. You want to write as if you are writing to a friend. This is all great stuff to an audience at large. But have you ever wondered what the triggers are for each personality? Having the right words can trigger the right response.

The 4 Main Personality Types and Dealing With Communication

Think about this… what is the biggest requirement for a relationship to work? It’s communication. And what is the biggest cause of conflicts and fights? It’s miscommunication. How many times have you heard or been witnessed to some kind of dialogue that went like this…

“That’s not what I meant.”

“But that’s what I heard.”

Sometimes different  personality types speak a different languages. You need to learn how to identify each type and their specific language. This is a powerful skill in both offline and online relationships.

Have you ever wondered why someone has a messy room or car and they don’t seem to care but it really bugs the stuffing out of you? Or you’ve probably had contact with the person who is always direct and to the point and they make you uncomfortable. Maybe you thought negative about someone because of his or her loud and crazy shirt. Those are all indicators of their personality type.

Everyone has various levels of all 4 main personality types within us. Sometimes it’s real easy to say, “He’s a ‘Type A’ or ‘Red’ through and through.” But other times it’s a little trickier. This missing link of information is vital when making connections, and once you understand these differences you can really connect with people on a whole new level.

In the videos below I actually portray each personality type. I change my shirt and speech to look and act like that personality type. If you can lean how to relate to each personality type, you can eventually recruit each type into your business. Below each video are several words and phrases that you will hear or see from that type. Some words or phrases may overlap into each type.

Which of the 4 Main Personality Types Are You?

Can you identify with each personality type? Do you lean toward one or the other? Knowing yourself more will also allow you to understand why you do things the way you do. You are just wired that way. When you find your dominant type embrace it. Celebrate you!

You may be able to look back on your life and identify specific events that may have helped shape your personality. Maybe you lean to one type because you’re pulling away from someone, or covering up issues that hurt you in the past.

You may be leaning to one type because you’re relating to someone you admire or someone who has influence over you. It isn’t until we free ourselves from these issues and really find ourselves, that we can help others.

Please share with the community if you have found any value from this. I would also love to know what personality type you are.

8 Tips for Starting an Online Business Part Time

Starting an online business part time doesn’t have to be a huge obstacle it appears to be. Whether you are facing the dreaded website set up or the overwhelm of too much information…your dreams of making some extra money are so worth it!

If you are facing those obstacles then I have some great news for you.

  1. You’re not alone! You can pole 100 successful online business builders and each and everyone one can give you some kind of horror story of when they got started and what they went through to get where they are today.

Some of my favorite business men and woman, who have created incredible businesses, have started with nothing. Or is some cases…less than nothing.  You know those rags to riches stories successful we keep hearing. How this guy was homeless or how this couple was hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, but in 2 years is worth 10 million.

  1. It is very possible to build a successful online business part time. The difference between most rag to riches and part time marketers is their story and hustle. Usually the rag to riches crowd had nothing to start with therefore had nothing to lose. They could afford to burn 18 hours a day try this or then. They could take 3 or 4 months to learn some kind of marketing method that would raise their game to the next level.

As a part time marketer the words “I ain’t got time for that” seem to ring true. Or does it?

Could it be possible that a person who is starting a business online part time could achieve the same results as someone who achieved greatness in their business by brute force and sheer will power?

I say undoubtedly YES! But there’s a catch. As there always is right? The right mindset is required as well as the right tools and systems. Yes you can shrink that learning curve and still build that online business through a simple model.

Before we get to the meat and potatoes check out this quick video that just crossed my desk.

Do you feel like this in your business sometimes?

Good news…

You’re not alone!

Great news…

I’m going to share some steps that you can use as a foundation for starting an online business part time.

8 core steps to building a successful online business part time!

I did mention that you needed the right mindset, tools and systems right? Well here’s part of that not no secret formula. These 8 core steps should be used as a guideline or roadmap to build any online business part time or full time.

The first 4 steps are the action steps.

Core step #1 Get All In

All in means ALL IN. Mentally, physically, spiritually, financially and any other ly you can think of. It’s the: I’ve burned the boat, dank the cool aid, there is no plan B, come hell or high water, even if it takes 5 years, I’m doing this with or without you, I got the golden ticket, top package. It’s the attitude and confidence, mindset and framework all other business owners lack who are not all in. Here’s the litmus test…you ether figure out how to get it done or you make excuses.

Core Step #2 Blog Daily

Everyone has a voice and everyone has a story. And whether you are a micro blogger on Twitter or a video blogger on Youtube...you have the ability to share your story. This may be hard to swallow if you're new but trust me...everyone has a story!

Additionally blogging helps with many other aspects of your online business Examples are

  • Becoming a better writer

  • Making better videos

  • Communicating better

  • Networking, both online and offline

  • Learning and molding your skillsets

  • Personal development

  • Increase creativity and memory

And the list goes on. Never underestimate the power of blogging!

Core Step #3 Market Daily

After blogging comes marketing and this is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to building your online business part time or eventually full time.

Trick question...

Is blogging marketing?

The answer is NO.

Marketing, when it comes to your online business, is everything you do to get more eye balls to your capture page and then sales page. With respect to blogging...it's everything you do to get people to see your blog. That would be syndication of your blog post.

Forbes shares 7 marketing trends in an article "Top 7 Online Marketing Trends That Will Dominate 2014"

  1. Content marketing will be bigger than ever

  2. Social Media marketing will require more diversity

  3. Image-Centric marketing will rule

  4. Less will be more

  5. Mobile friendly content will be necessary

  6. Ad Retargeting will grow in effectiveness

  7. SEO and social signals will become even more intertwined.

Now you may be thinking..."OK you had me at blogging but these trends...how can I compete with all that?"

Don't worry...I got your back on that! More info on that in a minute. In fact this is the perfect segway into the next 4 core commitments in your online business. And truth be told...I'm pulling these right out of the Empower Network handbook.

The next 4 steps are mindset and personal development…in fact they are the leadership foundation.

Core Step #4 New Member Coaching

Starting online business part timeRemember your very first job?

I worked at a garden center when I was 15. Besides getting a rude awakening with FICA and taxes...I had someone show me what to do. They guided me during my first week of all the ins and outs of my job duties. I bet you had a similar situation. Someone must have shown you how to do your job.

Starting your own online business part time is the same deal as starting your first job. There should be someone there to give you that initial support, encouragement, explain all the how to's ect.

When done properly the new member coaching will…

  • Elevate the belief and confidence the new member has in you as their sponsor

  • Raise their belief in the company through your eyes

  • Raise the confidence within themselves that they are in the right place at the right time

  • Provide them with a simple step by step on exactly what to do next in the business

  • Get to their core desire

  • Layout a game plan for their business, financially and timeline

  • Identify their commitment level for their business

Core Step #5 Inner Circle Audio

Simply put you are already wired for success….right? Of course right!

You just may need a little tapping into what we call “Your Best Self” to bring that success to life. Look it’s no secret that we get bombarded daily from C.N.N (constant negative news) and the creeper mindset limitations. The god news is we can take back control…like when we were kids again.

Think about the time when you were a kid and knew what you wanted and you made it happen. There was no limited beliefs. You learned to crawl walk and run. You learned to read and write. You made things happen.

Somewhere along the route “life happens” and we start to wane. Listening to audios in your down time helps build back that muscle memory of what it’s like to win, to be successful, to remove doubt.

The best audios to listen to on a daily basis are ones from people who are doing what you want to do. They have achieved what you are setting out to achieve. Whether it be personal development, marketing, or leadership…stay plugged into what’s working and soon you’ll be living it!

Core step #6 Read Daily

The perfect combination of; feeding your mind, becoming an expert, gaining charisma, and developing your own personal power. Daily audio and reading keep you wired for success.

You’ve heard the phrase…”Leaders are readers.” Many studies have been done on common traits of successful people. One of those traits is reading. That’s no secret, but a lot of people who are staring their online business part time wonder what they should be reading. Here’s a few ideas…

  • What’s recommended by successful people

  • Leadership and success

  • Mindset and personal development

  • Successful people’s autobiographies

  • Fiction…great for tapping into the creative mind

  • Blogs that are in your niche

Bottom line it’s not so much about what you read as it is that you read. So get your book on!

Core step #7 Empower Hour

If you have ever been in sales, or know someone in sales…there is always a sales meeting…usually weekly. The sales department is always going over facts and figures, short term and long term goals and just about anything else.

This is where the team is plugged in and in your online business a weekly call is just the same…and just as powerful.

The more you stay plugged in the more you stay on top of what’s going on. The more you stay “in the know.” The more you hear of the latest and greatest information.

The church gets it. They have you come back every week…twice a week if you’re in a bible study. The sales team gets it. Weekly meetings for general stuff and special meetings for high end clients. Heck some teams have a daily morning meeting to kick off the day.

The Empower Hour for online marketers is usually your weekly team call. Want to be the first to know what’s going on in your company? Be on the call!

Core Step #8 Attend The Next Event

One of the most important core commitments you can make when starting an online business is to get the next live event.

The audios and perfect for you to rewire the brain during downtime.

The books are perfect for start and or ending your day with information you chose.

The weekly conference calls are great for staying plugged into the updates and gleaning some golden nuggets from the leaders.

But there is nothing like the next live event. Flat out nothing! It’s the main event that is put on by either industry professionals and trainers or by a company your promoting. The best of the best is always delivered at the next event.

I could write volumes on what it means top get to these events, but I leave you with a quick story.

I was at an event several years ago (by the way you get THE BEST stories from events) and a speaker shared this success principal.

“Be here 1 year from now.”

Someone asked him then what. He said “Make a new commitment to be here a year from now.” He then went on to share that in the last 4 years the attendance of the live events doubled almost every year, but those who came back year after year were cut in half.

So after 4 years there was a couple of tables in the back of the meeting hall with about 40 people. Each of them had been coming to every live event for the past 4 years and the average income was well over 100K a year.

In our online business space every single successful person can attribute a shift in their business due to a live event!

Final thoughts

Because I only want to build you up for success I’m going to come clean and shoot straight now. You are most likely finding yourself in one of two camps.

The first being “Holy cow that’s a lot of work…not sure if I can do this.” I’m here to say that you can AND you absolutely deserve it to make it work. I first thought the same as you but noticed a shift when I started to weed things out of my life that didn’t serve me, like my business can. I had more time to commit to the things I needed to do.

The second camp being “This is the road map I’ve been looking for to build my online business part time and have it pay me like a full time business should. I say welcome to the new you!

If you’re in the first camp I would encourage you to look at your why…your goals and see if they are worth the fight. There’s nothing wrong with staying where you are if you only want to stay comfortable. Even if that means paycheck to paycheck.

But when you’re ready for more…ready to build a life by design and not settle for the same ol default life…then you’re ready to step up and make that decision that your goals are worth the effort.

If you’re in the second camp and you know that you know you’re going to do whatever it takes, even if you don’t know how just yet…then welcome to your new future. The life you want wants you and there’s nothing to hold you back.

Empower Network has more information on each of these core commitments. For the price of lunch for 2 you can have access to the very information that has been the foundation of many 6 and 7 figure businesses. Each of these core commitments has a video tutorial with detailed information on how to get the most out of the commitment and why it’s important to your business.

What to do next

  1. Click on the link and watch the presentation. Enter your best email as I want to make sure we get the right information to you.

  2. Join the $25 blog and membership so you have access to all the training I mentioned about the core commitments.

  3. Log into the back office of your empower network site and click on the first link that says “Fast start training. Again these can and should be applied to ANY business. This is your skill set that you can take away at any time too.

What if nothing is Impossible?

Today’s viral video brings a heartfelt story of a few boys who wanted to play football. Here in the US we call it soccer…but I digress.

The kicker (pun intended) is that these boys lived in a small village…a floating village next to a small island where playing football was next to impossible. Of course that doesn’t stop these kids.

Watch the video and see what these boys did to real their goal.

How cool is that?

Now in the description of the video the Bank of Thailand has a kick butt tag line. “Make The Difference.” It looks like the start a branding campaign for the bank. Not sure how that went but I loved the concept and tag line.

Make the Difference

To me the video, story, and taglines hit home. Feel free to copy and share any of them.

What if nothing is impossible?”

What else is possible?”

Make the difference.”

Now if you’re like me and you like motivational videos, speeches and presentations you’ll see that there is a lot more to this than just the feel good video. I’m not that easy to where I’d just drop a fun video and leave it at that. You know I need to make a bit of a stronger point or I would not do this blog any justice at all.

What if Nothing is Impossible – The Bigger Picture

Let’s put you…your story in this video.

#1 What would be the biggest issue that you were faced with?

#2 What did you do to overcome that issue?

#3 How did others feel about your story?

That’s really the crux of the issue isn’t it? The story and how it affects people.

Everyone loves these types of stories. Rags to riches, Rocky, Two homeless guys build the biggest online marketing system ever. Why do we love these?

One word…

These stories give us hope. Your story gives other people hope. All you need to do it share it.

I was a on a team call tonight and I heard a friend of mine share his story about how he went from being a broke barista who gave his girlfriend a used purse for her birthday…

To making over 40K a month in a little over a year! (See income disclaimer below, results not typical, success comes to those who make a decision)

It’s more than a word…it’s life to the lifeless. Give someone some hope today by sharing this post.

P.S. Go big or quit…It’s amazing what you can do when you have no other choice!

Start with your why!

Leadership Success Tips (1 of 10) Know Your Why

Know Your Why!

Leadership success tips 1 through 10 has begun. In this first video I share a little of my why and why your why is so important.

Why know your why?

1. It keeps you in the game until you’re successful.

2. It keeps you up at night and empowers you to push just a little more when times get tough and you don’t feel like working on it.

3. It serves your bigger purpose. Huge hint here…if you don’t have this then re-watch the video.

4. Others need to hear it.
Did that last point hit you a little awkwardly?
YES…others need to hear your vision. If you’re building any kind of business and you want to leverage attraction marketing then you need to share your bigger vision. So many people are missing this point.
The vision just got bigger” – David Wood
I shared this quote in my video for a reason. This blog that you’re on right now costs me a whopping $25 a month to run…SELF HOSTED!

When I run my other blog it’s well over $150 a month for hosting. There’s a blogging issue most people don’t tell you about. The more popular your blog gets…ie more traffic…the most the hosting costs.

This blog…this was a dream. This company Empower Network was a dream. This company with its 100% affiliate commission, incredible products and leadership factory atmosphere…yep you guessed it…it was a dream!

But every time a life is changed for the better because of Empower the dream…the vision gets bigger. And it’s people like you and me that need to know we can follow someone whose dream keeps getting bigger. It’s also why leaders STAY in empower. But that’s a post for another day.
Back to the leadership tips and why it’s important to know your why.

Here are some quick tips on how you can get some clarity around your vision and share it with others.

Clarity comes from simplifying and understanding what exactly it is that you want. When I shared my vision for bring 100 people and raising 1 million dollars all within 30 days…I’m pretty clear on that.

I know that won’t happen on my first attempt or even the 10th. But I know without a shadow of doubt that those numbers will happen AND more.

I visualize the day when the call is put out to my list and social media sites.

I can see the videos I’ll make.

I can see my assistants answering the phones and emails and schedule flights and connecting with the right people who we will be able to serve.

I can see the gather and support and encouragement our small army will be able to bring.

Simplify your vision enough so you can see yourself doing it. Over complicating it doesn’t cut it. There will be plenty of time to work out the extra details that tend to come along for the ride. For now…keep it simple.Use as many senses when forming the outcome of your vision. Make note of what the day will look like. What the weather will be. If you’re outside what are the sounds you’re going to hear. These elements deepen the reality of your dream or vision.

Be like a kid and ask yourself why. You heard me...WHY?

Why do you want this goal?

Then ask yourself 3-4 more questions. What will that get me?

After you have that answer then ask yourself again…and what will THAT get me?

Now here’s the break through…when you do this one more time that last answer is usually the best answer of all. Note…this last exercise will strengthen your belief about why you want what you want. It’s even more powerful when done with someone else…or in a mastermind session.

Final thoughts about why you should know your why.

Having clarity of vision is as powerful as breathing…both are easy to do and are required for living a fruitful life.” – Ken Pickard

P.S. What's your why?

Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian RhapsodyBohemian Rhapsody

It’s time to pay a little respect to this amazing song. Yes some speculation about what the words mean. But you have to admit that this epic iconic song has been etched into the minds of millions…and you’re still humming it to yourself aren’t you?

What fond memory can you share about this song Bohemian Rhapsody? You must have one? Tell you what…you can leave it in the comments below. But first lets clear the air and pay tribute to this awesome song. And that starts with the lyrics.

Bohemian Rhapsody lyrics

It’s time we set the record straight about what the words really are. Just so you know I’m not making any of this up you can go to Elyrics.net for the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I’m just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I’m easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn’t really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he’s dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I’ve gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn’t mean to make you cry
If I’m not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body’s aching all the time
Goodbye everybody – I’ve got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo – (anyway the wind blows)
I don’t want to die
I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning – very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro – magnifico

But I’m just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He’s just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go – will you let me go
Bismillah! No – we will not let you go – let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go – let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go – let me go
Will not let you go – let me go (never)
Never let you go – let me go
Never let me go – ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
for me
for me

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby – can’t do this to me baby
Just gotta get out – just gotta get right outta here

Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters – nothing really matters to me

Anyway the wind blows…

Hopefully there’s a little light on the subject now. So if you’ve been singing the wrong words it’s ok…I forgive you. But don’t let it happen again!

Now I’m sure you totally getting into this about now and your memory is starting to come back to you. You might even find yourself recollecting where you first heard this song. Or where you saw Queen in concert.

But lets go a little deeper…it’s ok I promise!

Queen Live –  Bohemian Rhapsody

I bet that did it huh? the euphoria effects of a classic song washing over you. But I can’t stop here. See, when I was digging around for the lyrics, yeah I admit it…I didn’t know the wright words to  Bohemian Rhapsody either, I found some interesting information.

Bohemian Rhapsody Song Facts

  • The title of the song Bohemian Rhapsody means “free and unrestrained happiness” there…now you know.
  • Mercury may have written “Galileo” into the lyrics for the benefit of Brian May, who is an astronomy buff. Galileo is a famous astronomer known for being the first to use a refracting telescope.
  • This was Queen’s first Top 10 hit in the US. In the UK, where Queen was already established, it was #1 for 9 weeks, a record at the time.
  • Thanks to this track, A Night At The Opera was the most expensive album ever made at the time. They used 6 different studios to record it. Queen did not use any synthesizers on the album, which is something they were very proud of.
  • In 2002, this came in #1 in a poll by Guinness World Records as Britain’s favorite single of all time. John Lennon’s “Imagine” was #2, followed by The Beatles’ “Hey Jude.”

More cool stuff can be found at Bohemian Rhapsody song facts on Songfacts.com

Over the years there has been some speculation as to what the words to Bohemian Rhapsody actually mean. The geeked out site wikipedia has this on Bohemian Rhapsody

The New York Times commented that “the song’s most distinct feature is the fatalistic lyrics”. Mercury refused to explain his composition other than saying it was about relationships; the band is still protective of the song’s secret. Brian May supports suggestions that the song contained veiled references to Mercury’s personal traumas. He recalls “Freddie was a very complex person: flippant and funny on the surface, but he concealed insecurities and problems in squaring up his life with his childhood. He never explained the lyrics, but I think he put a lot of himself into that song.” May, though, says the band had agreed that the core of a lyric was a private issue for the composer. In a BBC Three documentary about the making of “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Roger Taylor maintains that the true meaning of the song is “fairly self-explanatory with just a bit of nonsense in the middle.”

It’s one of those songs which has such a fantasy feel about it. I think people should just listen to it, think about it, and then make up their own minds as to what it says to them… “Bohemian Rhapsody” didn’t just come out of thin air. I did a bit of research although it was tongue-in-cheek and mock opera. Why not?

—Freddie Mercury

Either way this song just rocks and now it’s your turn.
